Jack E. Lumb. Army veteran of the Korean War. Born in Chicago Sept. 27, 1927 to the late Isaac and the late Pearl Lumb. Jack was the fith of seven children. Barbara (Gene) Todd, and the late Arthur (Gladys), Robert, Pearl (Al) Terry, Bill (Carmen) Jean Lumb, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. Jack was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the purple heart while serving in the U.S. Army Infantry. After his military discharge, Jack was employed by Amtrak for 37 years. When He retired, Jack moved to Norridge and became an active member of the community. Jack was devoted to home and family. For many years he was the loving caretaker to his aging parents and ailing siblings. He enjoyed numerous sports activites including tennis and swimming at norridge park. A gentle man, Jack's care and kindness will live on in the memories of his family and many friends. Jack passed away on November 15, 2012. Visitation Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels. 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge.
