Ivonne Hernandez

Ivonne M. Hernandez, “Titi”. Born February 11, 1966. 49 years old. Born in Elmhurst, IL, grew up in the northwest side of Chicago. Passed away on August 12, 2015, from a sudden and unexpected cause. She is survived by her Father (Andres), Mother (Neivis), her niece and love of her life (Miranda “Chuchi”), her partner in crime and sister (Maggie), her baby sister (Neida) and brother-in-law (Harold) who was her only brother at heart. A graduate of Wright College’s Radiography Program, she worked at Illinois Masonic Hospital for 24 years as a Mammographer (Radiography Technologist) with a team of great women and friends who became her extended family.She loved playing for hours with her Chuchi Miranda, telling her loopy silly stories, making her laugh, being her toy Titi. She loved hanging out with her sister Maggie watching movies, eating out, shopping and day dreaming. She loved spending time with Neida, Harold and Miranda as a unique foursome family unit, looking for the best deals and bargain finds. She loved doing her special shopping runs with her buddy Harold and always eating out. Last, she loved spending time with her Mami and Papi watching Spanish language novelas, treating them to breakfast and simple yet delightful errand runs around Chicago. She loved spending long nights of conversation with her Mami and Papi searching the internet for interesting and fun stories to talk about. She also loved being the family photographer always taking pictures and videos and editing them to perfection to share and make keepsakes.Ivonne, “Titi” was a mother to all of us taking loving care for each of us in her special way and was always all about the details and personal touches. She was never in a hurry to get anywhere, always taking the time to soak in every experience and moment life offered from the little to the big things of life. No one got anything passed Ivonne, with her keen observational skills like a private investigator with a sixth sense, always taking mental and written notes. She always believed in living life now and enjoying it now. “Let’s go on a vacation”, she would often say. “Let’s go soak in the sun”. “Vamos, Mami, Papi” anywhere. She loved music. She was selfless. She was loyal and loved passionately. She didn’t just love you. She loved you and your family. She made everyone feel special from her family, to her work family to her patients. Ivonne was a giving, generous, compassionate daughter, sister, Titi, best ever sister-in-law (but really sister). Ivonne is irreplaceable. As she and her niece would say every single night, “Love you to infinity and beyond, to the moon and back, forever and ever”.
