Ilias Papaioannou (1945-2024)
Ilias Papaioannou, aged 79, of Chicago, passed away on March 21, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Eleftheria, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years. Ilias was a devoted father to Athanasia (David Stachowiak) and Chris (Camilla Tarallo), and a loving grandfather to Anastasia, Rocco, and Elias. He is survived by his brother Angelo and was preceded in death by his brothers Aristotelis, Nikos, and Yannis. Ilias was a fond uncle to many.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, located at 2727 W Winona Street, Chicago. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
