Helena Sumyk

Helena Sumyk, nee Ilczynska, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024. Helena was the beloved wife of the late Dr. George Sumyk; loving mother of Ariadna (James) Whelan and Alexander Sumyk; cherished grandmother of Alexandra Whelan; dear sister of the late Zenovia Lewkuc, nee Ilczynska.



Visitation Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Panachyda 6:30 p.m.) at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Joseph the betrothed Ukrainian Catholic Church for a Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Chicago.
