Helen C. Fritz

Helen C. Fritz, (nee Rettenmeir) age 93, was born in Chicago and lived her entire life there. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Robert Fritz as well as her youngest son, Brian. She is survived by her six remaining children, Kathy (Tim) Seiwert, Linda (the late Walter) Hrobsky, Tom Green, Patty Green, Kelly Green (partner Buck) and Judy Green. She also leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Chicago where she was an excellent student and captain of the basketball team. She married and became a loving and devoted mother to her 7 children. She had a great abiding faith in God. She was blessed with many dear lifelong friends as she was a wonderful friend herself. She was a co-owner of a local travel agency for many years. Helen led a very busy life and was always a hard worker but never missed a birthday, graduation or sporting event for her children or grandchildren. She relished spending time with her great – grandchildren. As much as she loved children, she was also a huge lover of animals, especially dogs. She was blessed with a cheerful, likeable, fun loving, caring and compassionate nature and was a friend to all. She was a shining light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she outlived most of her friends and many family members she will be remembered for the profound impact she had an all of us who live on. Visitation Thursday, November 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cumberland Chapels (FRIEL FUNERAL DIRECTORS) 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services Begin Friday 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home and will proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M., Interment Maryhill Cemetery, Niles. In Lieu of flowers donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
