Harold Deyerler

February 18, 1932 — August 16, 2012

Harold Casper Deyerler, age 80, died on Thursday, August 16th 2012 in his home in Parker Colorado from complications of Mesotheleoma. He was born on February 18th 1932 in an apartment on north Elston Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, to Paul and Anna (Brehm) Deyerler. Married to his wife of 56 years, Wilma Jean (Dix) on September 8th 1956. Harold is survived by his wife Wilma, his sister Betty and her husband Red, daughter Lynnanne and her husband Bruce, son Michael and his wife Georgene, daughter Mary and her husband Willy, grandson Matthew, granddaughter Kristin and her husband Danny and great-granddaughter Nevaeh. He is preceded by his father Paul 1960 and mother Anna 1964, son Harold (Hal) 1959 and brother Paul 1984. Harry was in the Naval Reserves, he was a truck driver and mechanic for the family business for 21 years, and he retired at age 63 from LaSalle Glass where he worked for 20 years. But he always thought of himself as a trucker, he loved to drive and most of his vacations were road trips. His passion was remodeling, he never met a wall he didn’t want to tear out. He lived at 2741 W Belmont for 47 years of his life and didn’t leave until he had remodeled every room at least once. Likewise his home in Norridge at 8146 W Charmaine Ave where he added a huge room addition. The lifelong Chicagoan retired to Las Vegas and bought a brand new home, with changes to the plans of course... then he remodeled it. His final home was the apartment he had built in the walk-out basement of his daughter Mary’s family home in Parker Colorado. Had he been there longer, he certainly would have begun remodeling that too. Harry loved Family, and always looked for reasons to throw a party just so he could have everyone together. On Belmont Ave, birthday parties, Easter and Christmas Day were a standing date. Charmaine was a bigger house, which meant bigger parties. The Luau bash for their 40th Anniversary being the biggest. He loved to entertain and made sure everyone was well fed, well watered, and well, happy. Harry was always the friend you could turn to when you had a problem. Needed something fixed? Needed to borrow a tool? Needed a lift to the airport? Harry was there for you. He was a simple man. He loved his wife, he loved his family and he loved his life. He loved a good joke, or a bad one for that matter, but he laughed easily and loudly. We will miss that laugh and we will miss this man.
