Gregory Leon Fahey, 65, a loving man with a generous heart who is now at peace with Christ, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. Beloved husband of 39 years to Mary Beth; loving father of Kyle (Alex), Christopher, Tyler (Robin), and Justin; and devoted grandfather of Avery. Cherished son of the late Mary and John P. Fahey, and dear brother of the late Anne, Paul, and Michael. Greg was also a dedicated brother-in-law, uncle, and loyal friend to many. Born in South Bend, Greg was a graduate of Marion Catholic High School, where he met the love of his life, Mary Beth, when they were just 14. He later graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder before marrying Mary Beth and settling in Park Ridge, where they raised Kyle, Christopher, Tyler, and Justin. As their family grew, so did their shared love for football, dedicating every fall weekend for two decades to their sons’ games. When he wasn’t cheering from the sidelines, Greg could be found watching his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team or attempting to relive his glory days on Sundays—often diving for overthrown balls. A skilled golfer, he traveled the world nurturing lifelong friendships on the course. His magnetic personality, quick wit, and generosity touched everyone he met—from close friends to his favorite butchers and Starbucks baristas. His unapologetic sense of humor made him a fast friend to many.He shared a deep love for his dogs, ski trips out West, and long summer days at Lake Wawasee. In recent years, his greatest joys came from playing with his granddaughter, Avery, and finding peace while reading fiction in the pool—whether during Indiana summers or Fort Lauderdale winters. Greg and Mary Beth were inseparable; his happiest moments were spent simply by her side. His humor, kindness, and unwavering devotion will live on through his family and all who were lucky enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity meaningful to you.
