Gino Panella (Retired Chicago Fire Department) Age 85

Gino Panella, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Gino was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and later made his home in Niles, IL.

Gino was the beloved husband of Ileen (nee O’Brien) for 53 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Mary Susan (Tom) Trampas, Charles (Debbie) Glasebrook, John (Gina) Glasebrook, and the late Robert Glasebrook. He was the dearest grandpa of Joey (Ava) Trampas, Tommy (Brianne) Trampas, Zach (Jackie) Glasebrook, Sean (Erin) Glasebrook, Johnny Trampas, Sarah (Paul) Jarvis, Ryan Glasebrook, Megan Glasebrook, Vivienne Glasebrook, and Jack Glasebrook; and the cherished great-grandfather of Layla, Gracie, Lillian, Harper, Johnny, Caroline, and Peyton.

Gino was the treasured son of the late Gino and the late Dorothy Panella and the fond brother of the late Edward Panella. His life was defined by service — to his country, his city, and most of all, his family. He will be remembered for his loyalty, dedication, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him.

Visitation for Gino will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Interment will be private.
