Gary Hayka, age 86, U.S. Navy WWII, beloved husband of Cycelia, nee Truhan for 55 years; loving father of Lisa (Peter Kapelouzos); fond grandfather of Alex 'Gregory' and Christian 'Charlie' Kapelouzos; dear brother of the late Eugene, Loretta Romagnino and Joseph; fond uncle of Margie, Elaine, Wayne, Sande, Claudia, Gary, Ninette, Alexa, Nicholas and many others. Visitation will be Friday from 3 until 9 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral Services will begin Saturday 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to Our Lady Mother of the Church for Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Gary was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W., and animal welfare organizations. He was very active in the Democratic Party and was a Chicago precinct captain.
