George's mother passed away in his early childhood leaving him to be cared for by his older siblings, mainly his sister Stella. George was a decorated WWII veteran; a rifleman who served with the 7th infantry division and was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1948, he met and married the love of his life, Ida Rose Grande. Together, they worked hard and dedicated their time to raising their family. George retired in 1988 from Yellow Trucking ending his 30 year career. George will forever be remembered for his sense of humor; his astounding ability to add comedy and wit into every interaction. George and Ida loved to entertain, were long time members of both the Elks Club in Des Plaines & the Sambuca Club and would steal the spotlight on any dance floor. Their 65 year marriage was filled with joy and laughter and brought many happy memories to anyone who had the honor of knowing them.
