George Gojewycz was born in 1938 in Lviv, Ukraine. He was the son of Walter and Olga Gojewycz and he has two sisters Luba Mycyk and Marta Ozga. The family spent three years in the Displaced Persons Camp of Mittenwald in Bavaria before emigrating to the United States.The family finally settled in Trenton, New Jersey where George graduated from Trenton Catholic High School. He played soccer in high school and played the violin in the school orchestra. George was active with the Ukrainian scout group called PLAST!During the summers he worked at the UNA Resort in the Catskill Mts. There he met his future wife Vera Kuropas. George and Vera married in 1960 and had three daughters, Christina, Katya and Tamara.George received his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and worked for the FAA for 40 years.George and Vera have four grandchildren, Kasondra, Samantha, Zakkary and Ryan.
