George E. Batson, age 84, US Army Veteran, passed away on 10/16/2024. Beloved husband of the late Fedela nee Salemi. Loving father of Leonard (Karen) Batson, Jean (Jeff) Demann and John (Jacqueline) Batson. Fond grandfather of Jeremy and Justin Demann, Jessica Batson, Jenna (Ethan) Malone and Jacob Batson. Fond uncle, great uncle and friend of many. Visitation Friday, October 18, 2024, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral Services begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Beatrice Church in Schiller Park, Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Veteran of E4 Army 1960-1966. Member of River Grove VFW Post 5979 past commander, lifetime member of River Grove American Legion Post 335 past commander, lifetime member. VFW Post 5979 & American Legion 335 Chaplain, 46 years. Knights of Columbus, Ave Maria Council 4456 past commander. Eagle Scout 1955, Troop 947. Former Cub Scout/Boy Scout Leader, Troop 142. Former Village of River Grove Mayor Staff, Truant/Peace Officer. Honor Flight Chicago Honoree.
