Genowefa Menke

Genowefa “Genia” Menke, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2020. Genia was the daughter of Stanislawa and Waclaw Menke. Genia was the loving mother of Elizabeth (Arthur) Rauch; cherished grandmother of Daniel Rauch; dearest sister of Waclawa (Casimir) Zurek, Jadwiga (Adam) Wieckowski, Daniela (Jozef) Legowski, Stanislaw (Hanna) Menke, and Eugeniusz (Janina) Menke; precious aunt of several and adoring great aunt of many. Genia was strong in her religious beliefs with God at the center of her life. She demonstrated her love for her family and friends throughout her life, always providing love, support, and care. We will miss her immensely but will forever cherish her memory.Visitation Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. We will then proceed to St. Hyacinth Basilica 3636 W. Wolfram, Chicago, for a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., and the interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Due to the current health guidelines, we are limited to 25 attendees at a time. We kindly ask that you quickly exit the funeral home after paying your respects to the family so that all visitors have an opportunity to enter. Please wear masks and use proper social distancing.
