Frank Lagunas

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Special Agent Francisco Lagunas, a cherished son of Raquel and Juventino Lagunas, a devoted father to Emma and husband to Mayra. Francisco passed away on August 12, 2024, at the age of 47, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and unwavering commitment to his family and country.

Born in Chicago on December 9, 1976. Frank’s life was marked by his unwavering sense of duty and deep affection for his family. He honorably served in the Air Force for six years and obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry before his most recent accomplishment of joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Frank was also nearing the completion of his pilot license. He was known for his bravery and commitment. He was a respected colleague, a mentor, and a source of hope during challenging times.

As a father, Frank was a pillar of strength and guidance. He adored his daughter, Emma, and took great pride in her achievements. His love for his wife and daughter was evident in everything he did. Frank’s legacy is one of dedication, love, and exemplary service.

He was a loving brother to Jorge, Minerva, Graciela, and Yolanda. Frank was a loving uncle to David, Luis, Michael, Nathan, Georgie, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Debbie, Natalie, Katherine, Katelyn, Kevin, Evan, Kristyn, and Daniel. He was also a brother-in-law to Felipe, Luis, Jose, and Luz. More recently, he became Madelyn and Ryan's great uncle. His family was his world, and he made sure they knew it through his actions, words, and boundless love.

Francisco will be deeply missed, but his legacy of service, love, and commitment will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 6:30 PM with Visitation between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706 where family, friends, and colleagues will gather to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who gave so much to his country and his loved ones. Friends and family will gather at Cumberland Chapels on Monday at 11:00 a.m. we will then proceed for interment at Montrose Cemetery 5400 N. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL 60630 for Military Honors and Interment at 12:30 p.m.  For more information call (708)456-8300.
