Francesco Cascella, 83, passed away August 21st, 2026; Beloved husband of Clara Cascella; Cherished father of Tina (Michael) Toniolo, Nick (Melissa) Cascella, Frank (Rosa) Cascella; Proud Nonno of Annalisa, Christina and Isabella Toniolo and Gianna, Frank, Anthony, Francesco and Clara Cascella; Loving son of the late Pasqua and the late Nicola Cascella; Dearest brother of Antonia (the late Nicola) Laudadio, the late Maria (the late Tom) Laudadio, the late Rosaria (Joe) Circolone, Caterina (Domenico) Demetrio and Joseph (Janet) Cascella; Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the Italian Navy, Frank brought with him a strong sense of discipline, determination, and resilience when he came to America as an immigrant from Mola di Bari, Italy in the 1960’s. He lived the American dream, building a wonderful life through hard work and perseverance. He was a hardworking man throughout his entire life, never one to shy away from responsibility, and he continued working until the very end. Through his dedication and sacrifice, he created opportunities not only for himself, but also for his children, giving them the foundation and support to build lives better than the one he had been given.
Above all, he was a devoted family man who fiercely loved his children and grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy, and his love for them was unwavering. For 57 years, he shared his life with his loving wife, Clara, building a marriage filled with commitment, partnership, and love. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the opportunities he created for them, and the lasting example of strength, hard work, and devotion that he leaves behind.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 25th from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral service will be Wednesday Aug. 26th with visitation from 9:00am until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:00am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 551 N Rush St, Itasca. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
