Felicita Gonzalez, age 90, passed away peacefully into the arms of Christ surrounded by her loving family on July 16, 2026.

Felicita was the beloved wife of the late Gregorio Gonzalez. She was the loving mother of Mirian Gonzalez, Gregorio Gonzalez Jr., Jose Gonzalez, Awilda Gonzalez, Francisco Gonzalez, Hector Gonzalez, and Thomas (Mary) Gonzalez. She was the cherished grandmother of Antonio, Angelina, Matthew, Joey, Tatiana, Jessica, Francisco, and Tommy, and the proud great-grandmother of Mateo, Vincent, Moses, Elijah, Lucas, Preston, Lincoln, Micah, Ruth, Brelle, Nevan, and Kennedy.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Jose and the late Angelina Tirado (nee Torres Nieves). Felicita was the dear sister of Antonio, Angelina, Lydia, Hector, Ismael, Luz, and Angel, and a fond aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.

Felicita was a woman of unwavering faith, remarkable kindness, and boundless love. A devoted woman of prayer, she could often be found kneeling beside her bed mornings and evenings, faithfully lifting up prayers for her children, family, friends, and anyone in need. Her compassionate heart and steadfast faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially during family gatherings and holidays. Christmas and the Fourth of July were among her favorite celebrations, filling her home with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

An extraordinary cook, Felicita never needed a recipe or measuring cup to prepare the meals her family loved most. Whether celebrating one of her children's birthdays or simply wanting to surprise those she loved, she expressed her affection through every dish she prepared. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home.

She also looked forward each year to celebrating Mother's Day and her birthday with her family. She delighted in dressing up in her newest outfit and favorite jewelry, excited to discover which restaurant her loved ones had chosen for the occasion. Those outings brought her so much happiness and became treasured family traditions.

Above all else, Felicita loved her children deeply and never missed an opportunity to embrace them with a warm hug and Dios te bendiga. Her unconditional love, gentle spirit, and generous heart made her an extraordinary mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. And no visit to her home was complete without her famous "un cafecito." Family and friends alike knew that the first thing they would be offered—and eagerly accept—was a delicious cup of her coffee, made with the same love and warmth she shared so freely with everyone around her.

Felicita's legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be profoundly missed, the countless memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the love she gave so selflessly will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration for generations to come.

Visitation for Felicita will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, Illinois. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.

Felicita fue la amada esposa del fallecido Gregorio González. Fue la querida madre de Mirian González, Gregorio González Jr., José González, Awilda González, Francisco González, Héctor González y Thomas (Mary) González. Fue la adorada abuela de Antonio, Angelina, Matthew, Joey, Tatiana, Jessica, Francisco y Tommy, y la orgullosa bisabuela de Mateo, Vincent, Moses, Elijah, Lucas, Preston, Lincoln, Micah, Ruth, Brelle, Nevan y Kennedy.

Fue la amada hija de los fallecidos José y Angelina Tirado (de soltera, Torres Nieves). Felicita fue la querida hermana de Antonio, Angelina, Lydia, Héctor, Ismael, Luz y Ángel, y una cariñosa tía de muchos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Felicita fue una mujer de fe inquebrantable, de extraordinaria bondad y de amor sin límites. Como una mujer profundamente dedicada a la oración, con frecuencia se le encontraba arrodillada junto a su cama cada mañana y cada noche, elevando fielmente sus oraciones por sus hijos, su familia, sus amigos y por toda persona que necesitara de ellas. Su corazón compasivo y su firme fe fueron una inspiración para todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

La mayor alegría de su vida fue su familia. Atesoraba cada momento compartido con sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos, especialmente durante las reuniones familiares y las celebraciones de los días festivos. La Navidad y el Día de la Independencia, el Cuatro de Julio, eran dos de sus celebraciones favoritas, llenando su hogar de risas, amor y recuerdos inolvidables.

Fue una cocinera extraordinaria que nunca necesitó una receta ni tazas de medir para preparar los platillos favoritos de su familia. Ya fuera para celebrar el cumpleaños de uno de sus hijos o simplemente para sorprender a quienes tanto amaba, expresaba su cariño a través de cada comida que preparaba. Su cocina era verdaderamente el corazón de su hogar.

También esperaba con gran ilusión la celebración anual del Día de las Madres y de su cumpleaños junto a su familia. Le encantaba arreglarse con su ropa nueva y sus joyas favoritas, emocionada por descubrir qué restaurante habían escogido sus seres queridos para la ocasión. Esas salidas le brindaban una inmensa felicidad y se convirtieron en una de las tradiciones más queridas de la familia.

Por encima de todo, Felicita amó profundamente a sus hijos y nunca dejaba pasar la oportunidad de recibirlos con un cálido abrazo y un sincero: "Dios te bendiga." Su amor incondicional, su espíritu bondadoso y su corazón generoso hicieron de ella una madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana y amiga verdaderamente excepcional.

Ninguna visita a su hogar estaba completa sin su famoso "cafecito." Familiares y amigos sabían que lo primero que ella les ofrecería —y que todos aceptaban con gusto— era una deliciosa taza de café, preparada con el mismo amor, calidez y generosidad que compartía con cada persona que cruzaba la puerta de su casa.

El legado de fe, bondad, generosidad y amor incondicional de Felicita continuará viviendo en el corazón de todos los que fueron bendecidos con conocerla. Aunque su ausencia dejará un profundo vacío, los innumerables recuerdos que creó, las tradiciones que transmitió y el amor que entregó tan generosamente seguirán siendo una fuente de consuelo e inspiración para las generaciones venideras.

La velación de Felicita se llevará a cabo el miércoles 22 de julio de 2026, de 9:00 de la mañana hasta la hora del servicio fúnebre, que comenzará a las 12:00 del mediodía, en Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, Illinois. Posteriormente, será sepultada en el Cementerio Maryhill, en Niles, Illinois.
