Esther B. Chiero, age 95. Esther’s journey through life came to an end on February 15, 2021 when she peacefully passed away, able to rejoin her husband of 54 years, Lou, a former Chicago Fire Chief. Together they enjoyed bowling, card games, bingo and traveling, with several cruises and numerous trips to Vegas prior to Lou’s passing. She was a strong supporter of Drum Corp, acting as a chaperone for the Norwood Park Imperials. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons Larry and Keith and siblings Ernie Zimny, Marion Martin, John Zimny and Pearl Zujewski. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Peter) Spencer, with whom she lived, grandchildren Jason (Ami) Spencer, Jaime (Andi) Spencer, Lionell (Jen) Chiero, Desire (Mike) Pedigo and Phylis Chiero. She was a great grandmother to Connor, Fiona, Jackson, Avery, Sophia Alexander and Elizabeth, who affectionately referred to her as GG. Visitation Monday, February 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Entombment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.
