Emilio Luigi DeRango

Emilio Luigi DeRango, born in Marano Principato, Calabria, Italy, on February 5, 1938, fell asleep in the Lord surrounded by his loving family.

Emilio emigrated to the United States in August 1967. He lived a complete life and was incredibly proud to become a U.S. citizen. A dedicated family man with an amazing work ethic, he was especially proud of his 31-year career at the Mars Candy Company.

Adored son of the late Serafino and the late Cherubina DeRango. Devoted husband of 54 years to Filomena Concetta. Loving father of Antonella (Abel), Anna (Matthew), and Gino (Vivian). Proud grandfather of Alexis, Andrew, Dominic, Nicholas, Giuliana, Aubrey, and Adelina “Linutsa.” Dear brother of Gene and Gemma (Alfredo), and the late Mike, the late Anthony, the late Maria, and the late Francis. Cherished brother-in-law of Anna (Pietro), Sarena (Tony), Ben (Elvira), and the late Francis and the late Maria Carmena, all of whom he loved as his own brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Emilio will take place on Monday Ocotber 19, 2026 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. The funeral will then proceed to Queen of Peace Parish at St. Eugene Church for 11:30 am Mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
