Elsie Mueller, age 94, of Park Ridge, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. Elsie was the beloved daughter of the late Luigi and Assunta Gagliardi who immigrated to the United States from Calabria, Italy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Concialdi (1962) and Charles Mueller (2017); beloved sister to the late Joe Gagliardi and the late Orlando (Janet Sue) Gagliardi. Elsie was the loving mother of Susan Briden (Craig Hyslop), Linda Ori (George Rutkowski), Cindy (the late Tony) Solano, and Denise (Bobby) Bosco. She was the proud grandmother of Christopher (Anna) Briden, Gary (Rene) Briden, Mark (Paola) Briden, Gino (Tiffany) Ori, Joseph (Mandy) Ori, Mark (Francesca) Ori, Anthony (Amelia) Ori, Anthony (Katie) Solano, Nicolette (Nick) Morreale, Krista Solano, Dina (Tommy) Scavuzzo, Michelle Bosco, Robbie (Lauren) Bosco, Gianna (Trey) Ward, Michael (Maggie) Bosco; cherished great grandmother of 35 great grandchildren, with one more blessing on the way.
As a young woman, Elsie enjoyed roller skating, dancing at the Aragon ballroom, and listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. One of her dreams was to become an entertainer, but her most important dream was to get married and start a family. She did just that by marrying the love of her life and becoming a devoted mother. After the tragic death of her husband, Sam, at the young age of 29, she became a single parent to her four young daughters. Elsie went on to work for the Chicago public school system as a teacher’s aid and administrative assistant for 30 years.
After her four daughters were married, Elsie found love again and married Chuck, and were together for 34 years. During their time together they loved traveling to Las Vegas, dancing, Elsie’s home cooked meals, and spending time with their grandchildren. Above all, Elsie cherished her family, which was the cornerstone of her life. Her family meant the world to her, especially her little poopies which she affectionately called all of her great grandchildren. She never missed a recital, a graduation, a birthday, a sporting event, or Sunday family dinners. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will live on through each of us. We will miss her dearly, and she will live in our hearts forever.
