Edward A. Gonke, 84, at rest September 26, 2026. Beloved husband of Lucy Gonke for 63 wonderful years. Loving father of Anthony (La’Trice) Gonke and Annie (Joseph) Capotosto. Cherished grandfather of Ashley (Jeremy) Mintun, Nicole (Casey) Pourchot, and Devin Torkelsen; great grandfather of Emilia, Elijah, and Colter. Beloved son of the late Edward and Anne Gonke. Dear brother of the late Robert (Barbara) Gonke. Fond uncle of many. Edward worked for many years alongside his father and brother at the family business, A & G Saw & Tool Service on Belmont Ave in Chicago. He had a knack for gardening and could often be found out in the garden growing all kinds of vegetables and flowers. Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels. Funeral services will start at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, then proceed to St. Eugene Catholic Church, Chicago, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
