Dorothy Riffner

Dorothy A. Riffner, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on February 10, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Mathias and the late Emily Valentine.

Beloved wife of Peter Riffner for 66 wonderful years. Loving mother of Linda (Brian) Cozad, Karen (Ken) Hojnacki, and Susie (Sean) O'Callaghan. Cherished grandmother of Tommy, Anna, Emily, and Maggie, and proud great-grandmother of Gwennie. Dear sister of the late Matt (Mary) Valentine and the late Diane (Gene) Lando. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.

Visitation for Dorothy will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, Illinois. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and will then proceed to St. Francis Borgia Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois.

Dorothy’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
