Donna Ann Sparacino

Donna Ann Sparacino, (nee Scramuzza) age 80, passed away unexpectedly at her home on September 26, 2026. Donna was the beloved wife of the late Charles; cherished mom of Carla Lempera; devoted daughter of the late Rose (nee Mallano) and the late Nick Scramuzza; adored nana of Liliana and Bianca Lempera; dearest sister of Nick (Leslie) Scramuzza and the late Cynthia (Anton) Marano; and sister in-law and dear friend of Donna Nelson. She was a fond aunt and friend of many.

Donna spent her early years growing up in Little Italy near Taylor and Aberdeen before putting down roots in Elmwood Park at the age of seven. She attended St. Vincent Ferrer Elementary School and later Elmwood Park High School, where she met her husband, Chuck. Always an enterprising woman, Donna eventually started her own boutique out of her home, calling it the “Sunday Sampler.” Through it, she outfitted much of the surrounding area, bringing her impeccable sense of style to family, friends, and neighbors alike. She and Chuck went on to pursue several business ventures together, while pouring their hearts into raising their daughter, Carla. Later in life, even after surviving her own battle with breast cancer, Donna remained the consummate caregiver to her family and friends. She offered unwavering support, compassion, and encouragement to everyone she encountered, building deep and enduring relationships along the way. Her greatest love and pride were her two granddaughters, Liliana and Bianca. She was a constant presence in their lives keeping track of their many activities and enthusiastically supporting them at every game, recital, event, and performance. Their accomplishments were her accomplishments, and she took immense joy in watching them grow. When she wasn't busy cheering on her girls she could be found trying her luck at the slots and tables or sharing a meal with one of her many dear friends. Donna left a memorable impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was kind, graceful, stylish, and classy - a woman who led with love, never minced words, and approached life with optimism. She had a way of making people feel cared for, supported, and loved. Her presence brought warmth to so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation Friday, October 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Vincent Ferrer Church in River Forest for Mass at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
