Donald Delaney

Donald R. Delaney, age 71, passed away on October 17, 2022 with his family at his side. Don is the beloved husband of Betty Ann, nee Faulk, for 50 wonderful years; loving father of Shannon D. (Mike) Gardner, Kelly A. (Brandon) Borden, Ryan M. (Claire) and the late Robert J. Delaney; dearest son of the late Beulah and Frank; cherished Papa of Aubrey, Keira, Addison, Alanna, Connor and Grace; dearest brother of Lois (Claude) Ogorek, and the late Bill (Arlene), the late Michael (Jane) and the late Marty Delaney; fond uncle of many. Don gave everything he had to his family and adored spending time with them. He loved his time with his six grandchildren on the water. Don was always willing to lend a hand. He was an avid Cub’s fan through the good and the bad. He loved all the years he coached baseball for his kids and others. Don enjoyed volunteering as an elected board member for over 28 years with the Schiller Park School District #81. Don worked at Illinois Bell for 40 years, 4 months and 4 days. Just like he said when he retired from work and how he went to eternal life, “I did it my way.” In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. Visitation Monday, October 24, 2022, from 3:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to Saint Francis Borgia Church in Chicago for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment is private.
