Dominic Giannini

Dominic Giannini, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on September 3, 2026. Dominic was the beloved husband of the late Barbara, and was formerly married to the late Marilyn (Guarino) the mother of his 3 children; loving father of Joanne Kilgore, Vincent (Sandra Pratl) Giannini and Judy (Douglas) Yuvan; dear son of the late Teresa and Tomas Giannini; cherished papa of Megan (Nicholas) Frillman, Madeline Kilgore and Katherine Yuvan; great papa of Keegan and Peyton Frillman; dear brother of Mary (the late Frank) Fini, the late Aldo (Dolores) and the late Fred (Jacqueline) Giannini, the late Nice (the late Mario) Pontarelli and the late Josephine Giannini, and he was a fond uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Dominic was a member of Midwest Operating Engineer's Local #150.

Whether he was in Norridge or at his home away from home in Cape Coral, Florida, Dominic found joy in the simple things that made life special. He was happiest when he was busy tinkering in the garage, determined to “MacGyver” his way through whatever needed fixing, tending to his garden, or standing at the grill, proudly cooking a steak for the people he loved.

Dominic was an avid bocce player and looked forward to spending several evenings a week on the court. But it was never just about the game. He cherished the friendships, laughter, stories, and time spent talking with the guys. Those evenings became a special part of his life and memories that will be treasured by all who shared them with him.

He had a way of appreciating life’s simple pleasures. A cup of black coffee was just right—but every now and then, when he was feeling a little spicy, he’d add a splash of Seagram’s. It was those little quirks, familiar routines, and moments of joy that made Dominic uniquely himself. He will be deeply missed, but the memories of his laughter, his stories, his kindness, and the simple moments he enjoyed will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Visitation Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Eugene Church (Queen of Peace Parish) in Chicago for Mass at 12:00 p.m. The entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in River Grove.
