Dennis Scarleski

Dennis J. Scarleski, the Patriarch of the Scarleski family, of Norridge Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 21 at his son's home in West Chicago surrounded by his family and friends whom he deeply cherished with all his heart. Dennis was born on July 17, 1940 to Marie, nee Dembski, and Joseph Scarleski. Dennis was the beloved husband of the late Lillian, nee Klann, who he married, and began his legacy with by adopting three children and raising them with their values, integrity and beliefs. Dennis was the loving father of Jeff (Jennifer), Tim (Donna) and Sheryl (Alex) Cappello; cherished grandfather of Timothy Jr., Mathew, Nicholas, Michael, Sandro, Alexis and Anthony; dearest brother of Lorraine (the late Bud) Ludford, Geri (the late Nick) Urhausen and Ken (Renee) Scarleski; fond uncle of many. Dennis was a kind, caring and generous person who made friends easily and would help anyone in need. He started out with little in life, but with his work ethic and people skills he left a positive imprint on many lives. He was very involved in his grandchildren's lives and in competitive sports he was their #1 fan. A machinist that made many friends in his work starting out at Litel, Mars Candy, Dr. Scholl's ,and, ultimately, retiring from Fel-Pro Gaskets. He had also worked as a Meter Reader for the Village of Norridge. Dennis was a manager of Norridge Little League teams, and took it upon himself to be a positive role model for the community.
