Denise Edith Tully of Park Ridge, Illinois, formally of St. Anne IL, went to Heaven peacefully on May 6, 2024.
Denise was born on May 31, 1962 in Kankakee IL, the daughter of Jerald “Jerry” and June Hoekstra of St. Anne IL.
Denise graduated from Bishop McNamara HS in 1980 and Valparaiso University in 1985 with her BSN. She began working shortly thereafter, as a Registered Nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago before putting her career on hold to be a stay-at-home mother. She resumed her career as a nurse in 2008 at Roosevelt Elementary School in Park Ridge before moving over to Washington Elementary School until her retirement in 2022.
She married Len Tully on September 7, 1996 in Kankakee, IL. Together they raised two beautiful daughters who she is so extremely proud of. Sarah Tully of Kenosha, WI and Caroline Tully of Ann Arbor, MI.
Along with her two daughters, Denise is survived by her husband Len, her parents and her brother, David (Cathy) of St. Anne, IL and her nephews, Michael (Claudia) Hoekstra and Daniel Hoekstra, both of Chicago. She is also survived by many family members including her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was proceeded by her grandparents, George and Edith Lueth and William and Katherine Hoekstra.
Denise was known to many as a light that never dimmed. She would bring laughter and love everywhere she went. She will be remembered for her strong faith and determination, and she lived her life to the fullest.
She will be greatly missed by so many dear friends and her extended family. As she was taken too soon from us, we know that she will send us signs that she is watching over all of us.
Visitation is Monday, May 13, 2024 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawerence Avenue Norridge, IL 60706.
The Funeral Services will be on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church 260 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge IL 60068.
We will proceed from the funeral home at 9:00AM on Tuesday with Denise lying in state at 10:00 AM until the funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be given in the Tully Family name for a donation to a charity of their choice.
