David was a man of integrity and generosity. His life was defined by compassion, quiet strength, and a deep belief in giving others the opportunity to succeed. He funded scholarships for underprivileged students from Chicago's South Side along with donating his time to Cub Scouts for many years. A member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange since 1975, David began his career as a broker in lumber futures contracts. With the advent of S&P stock index futures in the early 80’s, David successfully transitioned into what now has become a bedrock to the financial services industry, especially in periods of high volatility. David characteristically used this success to bring all of his brothers and other family and friends into the business as well.
David was survived by his loving partner of almost 20 years, Dr. Wendy Hick Rheault and his children Mike (Kelly) and Brian. David also leaves behind three brothers, Leonard (Milly), William (Raluca) and Mark (Christine), and his former spouse Debbie Groover. He was a loving uncle to Megan, Clint, Steven, Jennifer, Isabella, Evan and Ben. David also shared a loving relationship with Wendy’s children David (Jessica),Natalie (Rob),Alex, (Brittney) and Wendy's grandchildren Madeline, Noelle, Eloise, and Paxton.
A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held this Saturday August 2nd at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
