Lester Dale Marsh was born on July 26, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, his father, Frederick Lester Marsh, was 34 and his mother, Mildred Irene Yates, was 34.

Dale was preceded in death by his Parents, sisters, Bernice Louise, Beatrice Lucile (Marsh) Hermann, Lois Ann and brothers Russell Vern and Paul Devon Marsh. Grandson of Amos Deloss and Ella M. (Babb) Yates and Thomas Spencer and Armina C. (Gingrich) Marsh.

He married Barbara Ann Reinert on August 12, 1966, in his hometown. They had two children during their marriage, Christopher Michael and Debra Lynn (Marsh) Dillie.

Dale passed away surrounded by family on January 29, 2024, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois, at the age of 88 after battling several illnesses.  Survived by the last of his siblings, youngest sister, Elsie Rose (Marsh) Shehan of Downers Grove, Illinois.

In loving memory of Dale Marsh, a compassionate soul whose life was marked by selfless service, unwavering loyalty, and cherished passions. Dale, a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park, Illinois, dedicated countless hours to volunteering, embodying the spirit of community and kindness.

A true Chicagoan at heart, Dale's fervor for the Bears knew no bounds, evidenced by his unwavering support through many seasons as a proud holder of season tickets. His enthusiasm for the games was infectious, creating lasting memories for those fortunate enough to share in the joy of victory and the camaraderie of fandom.

A connoisseur of the finer things, Dale found solace in the simple pleasure of a Canadian Club Manhattan. This classic cocktail reflected his appreciation for life's moments, sipped and savored with a smile. His refined taste extended beyond beverages, as he reveled in the timeless tunes of Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack, their music providing the soundtrack to his cherished memories.

Each year, Dale eagerly anticipated his birthday getaway to Marco Island, Florida, where he found serenity and celebration in the sun-soaked paradise. These annual retreats, shared with his beloved granddaughter Nicole, daughter Debbie, and son-in-law Guy, became a cherished tradition for the Marsh family.

However, it was Dale's unparalleled generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand that truly defined him. A friend to all in times of need, he had an innate ability to drop everything to be there for someone—a testament to his compassionate and selfless nature.

Dale Marsh's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Yet, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the joy he spread, and the memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in the richness of his life.
