Cristobal "Chris' Moreano, age 93, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on April 30, 2024. Chris was the beloved husband of Rosita, nee Cano, for 70 wonderful years; loving father of Rocio Moreano, Oswaldo (Marianne) Moreano, Monica (Kenneth) Brown, Luis Moreano, Ximena Moreano, Cristobal, Jr. (Ana) Moreano and Elena (David) Canizares; dear son of the late Mercedes and Luis Rafael Moreano; cherished grandfather of April, Melinda, Ryan, Ashley, Alex, Mike, Sarah, Haley, Celina, Israel, Chance, Nicholas, Daniel, Samuel, Matthew and Mark; great grandfather of Allison, Alyssa, Lola, Jason, C.J., Liam, Arlo, Clyde, Persephanie and a little girl on the way. Cristobal was preceded in death by 18 brothers and sister, and he was a fond uncle of many.
Chris worked for United Airlines for over 30 years, and was a professional Soccer player for multiple club teams in Ecuador including Espana, Aucas, and Crak. He was fortunate to play against the Great Pele and received the New York Cosmos Medal.
His family will always consider him a Legend in our hearts and minds. We all love you and miss you.
Visitation Friday, May 3, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m. on Satudray at the funeral home,and will then proceed to St. John Brebeuf Church 8305 N. Harlem Ave., Niles for Mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. For more information call (708)456-8300.
