Colleen Gallagher

Colleen Marie Gallagher left this world peacefully on Sunday, May 1st 2022 at 2:45 pm, in her home, surrounded by family. Colleen was born to Robert Bernard Gallagher and Dorothy Marie Fitzgerald in Chicago, where she spent all of her life.


Although born on the west side of Chicago, she lived in different neighborhoods throughout her life including Back of the Yards, Bridgeport, Gauge Park, Little Italy, and Arcadia Terrace, before eventually settling in Albany Park. Similarly, she held a diversity of jobs throughout her life starting as a waitress in her grandmother’s restaurant, later as a Chicago stage and film agent in an agency owned by her and her sister before moving on to City of Chicago, and eventually the Chicago Park District.


Colleen is survived by her husband William Thomas, her children Flynn Patrick, Quade Thomas & Bridgit Marie, Niall William, her sister Kathleen Bridget and her nephew Nikoli Martin.


The wake will be held on Thursday May 26th at Cooney Funeral Home 3918 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL from 3 pm to 7 pm.


A funeral mass will be held on Friday May 27th at St. Benedicts at 2215 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL from 3:30 pm to 5 pm followed by repast.
