On August 29th, 2021, Christine M. Samaan (nee Sakowicz), age 72, passed away peacefully in St. Charles, IL with family at her side.  She was born on December 19, 1948, in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Carmel High School of Girls in 1967 and went on to attend Loop College where she met her former spouse, John Samaan.
 
 She is the beloved Mother of Daniel (Jackie) Samaan and Steven (Shelley) Samaan, of Elgin, IL and Cynthia (Brent) Hagemeyer of Sycamore, IL. Grammy was the title she took on when she welcomed her seven grandchildren she adored - Lucas, Brooke, Tyler, Zachary and Vanessa Samaan and Teagan and Rylan Hagemeyer.
 
 Alongside her loving children and grandchildren, Christine Samaan is survived by her half-siblings the Very Rev. Gregory Sakowicz, Pamela Sakowicz Menaker, Adrian (Catherine) Sakowicz and Marya (Kenneth) King. Christine was preceded in death by her parents Sig and Florence (Przekop) Sakowicz and many aunts and uncles.
 
 She was employed at the City of Chicago for some time before raising a family.  She then went on to work as a utility clerk for Dominick’s grocery store for more than 25 years where she also enjoyed assisting in the floral department arranging flowers.  Throughout her time there, she formed many friendships that lasted beyond her retirement.
 
 Christine was a strong woman, incredible mother, and fabulous grandmother who knew the true meaning of unconditional love.  She loved cooking, shopping, crafts, animals, dressing up for every holiday and most of all, spending time with her grandkids. Grammy relished watching her grandkids in their activities including gymnastics, viola, swimming, baseball, football, dance and many more.
 
 Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. A Celebration of life service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery 6800 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL.
