Christine Di Christofano

Visitation for Christine Di Christofano nee Giallombardo, 98 will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home and then proceed to St. Pascal Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment will be at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. It was love at first sight at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago 1939 where she met Rocco. Six months later they were married and celebrated 66 wonderful years before his passing on April 18, 2007. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed family get-togethers, loved cooking, gardening, painting and sewing. Christine was always up for a good game of scrabble and was the family champion. She was active in the Alter and Rosary Society, and the Italian American Club and supported multiple Catholic charities. She was a breast cancer survivor. After being afflicted with Alzheimer’s and multiple strokes over a period of 6 years, she died peacefully at the Rosewood Care Center of Inverness on July 6, 2013. The beloved wife of late husband, Rocco; loving mother of Frank (Darlyne), Anne (Dr. H. Gordon III) Davis and Angie (Bill) Day; loving grandmother of Frank (Laura Jean), Michael (Laura) Di Christofano, Diane Benigno, Lauren and Catherine Davis, Christopher (Cicely) Haggard and Stephanie (Christopher) Olson; loving great-grandmother of Jacqueline, Katherine, Nicole, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, Anthony, Hannah, Rocco, Ella, Ava, Paulette and Atticus; dear sister of the late Steve (Theresa), late Joseph (Frances), and late Charles (Joan) Lombardo and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
