Cheryl Ann Wrobel (nee Quinlisk), age 66, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. Cheryl was the beloved wife and life partner to Keith for over 40 wonderful years, the proud mother of Sarah, Michael, and Steven, and a cherished grandmother to Charlotte, Harrison, and Jaxx. She was a sister to Lynn and Michelle and an aunt and great-aunt their children and grandchildren.
Cheryl served as an early development and special education teacher for 37 years, starting out at St John Berchmans School and spending most of her tenure at River Grove School. She brought compassion, patience, and second-to-none organization to her classroom. Both her peers and students have known her as a kind, caring, and empathetic educator whose passion lay in her special educational work. It was not an uncommon occasion that she would run into a student 15 years later and address them by name, asking how they and their family were.
Cheryl spent her last years overwhelmed with joy by the arrival and speedy growth of her grandchildren. Each one ignited a new flame of love that burned brightly each day, feeding her capacity for love. Her fondest times were spent crafting with the kids to nurture their creative side and imagination and aiding in the development of their early lives, encouraging them to be kind and loving.
Please come celebrate Cheryl. Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. Service held at Cumberland Chapels (8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL). The interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove. For more information call (708) 456-8300.
