Charlet Knecht

Charlet Knecht, nee Friesel, age 84, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 19, 2024. Charlet was the beloved wife of the late Roger; loving mother of Bryan (JoAnn), Kenneth (Sally), Sandra and Michael (Julie) Knecht; dear daughter of the late Elizabeth and Alex Friesel; cherished grandmother of Christie Campus, Amanda, Leah, Katelyn and John Knecht and great grandmother of Hailey and Hannah Campus; dearest sister of the late Alex (the late Joan) Friesel, the late Anita (the late Al) Elsner, and a fond aunt and dear friend of many.



Charlet left this brief note on her refrigerator for her family and friends: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”.



Visitation Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. A Prayer and final farewell will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and we will proceed for the interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
