Charles Strauss

Charles F. Strauss, 85, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024 at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, surrounded by those he loved.  He was born on August 13, 1939 in Chicago Illinois, the son of Barbara Byer and stepson of Henry Boczar.

Second Airman Charles served in the United States Air Force until being Honorably Discharged on September 30, 1962 whereupon he began his lifetime career in his commercial insurance business, working up until just the end. He was a competitive card and backgammon player, huge fan of Elvis Presley, loyal fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.  Charles was a deeply spiritual man who tried his best to live in relationship with God.

Charles leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Tina; his sons Michael (Wendy), Mark (Allison) and Kaelan (Anthony).

Visitation will be Friday, September 20, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Military Honors.  Interment will be private.  Info:  708-456-8300
