Charles “Chas, Chuckie, Uncle Chuck” Sparacino of Elmwood Park, at rest Monday, June 4, 2018 after an arduous battle with congestive heart failure and lung cancer. Beloved husband of Donna nee Scramuzza, devoted father of Carla (André) Lempera, cherished grandfather “Papa” of Liliana and Bianca, beloved son of the late Dominic and the late Josephine nee Battaglia, loving brother of Carolyn (Bruce) Hodges and Donna Nelson, fond son-in-law of the late Nick and Rose, dear brother-in-law, and loving uncle to many. During his brief 68 years, Charles gave over 32 years of dedicated service retiring as Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 126th Air Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard. He then served a decade as the Executive Director of the National Guard Association of Illinois. He culminated his career with fifteen years as Superintendent at AMC, proving himself the go-to guy for just about anything. Along the way he dabbled in numerous entrepreneurial endeavors from a beef stand to condo rehabs. He rekindled his passion for Harley-Davidson going for a cruise every chance he had. Through the years and adventures he made countless friends he turned into family and left a mark on the heart of each he encountered. He was loved, he will be missed, but never forgotten. Visitation Monday, June 11, 2018 from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin Tuesday June 12, 2018, 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Vincent Ferrer Church in River Forest, IL for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow the mass at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
