Charles Spain

Charles J. Spain, age 93, U.S. Army Veteran and long time resident of Norridge, IL, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021. Charles was the beloved husband of the late Ellen Mae, nee Swigart, for 66 wonderful years; cherished father of Steven Charles (Marilyn) Spain, Karen Eileen (David) Jeschke and Gary Joseph (Susan) Spain; dearest son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Spain; loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Michael, Hayley, Kelly and Matthew; great grandfather of John and Audrey Spain; devoted brother of Jacqueline Tierney; fond uncle, cousin and friend of many. Charles loved spending time at the gym, tending his garden and working around his home. He was a proud employee of Procter & Gamble Co. until his retirement after 42 years of dedicated service. Visitation Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of an 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. The interment will be private at Mt.
