Cathy Sorenson, community theater actress, choral singer at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, super-aunt and absolute lover of animals, passed away Sept 2. A dedicated math teacher at Whitney Young High School, Cathy rarely took a sick day in 27 years. She was the better half to Ron Sabel for many years. Loving daughter of the late Gustav and Eulaylah Sorenson. Dear sister of Roger. Amazing Aunt Cathy to 26 nieces and nephews. And proud protector of scores of Roscoe Village cats. Memorial visitation Thurs Sept 6 from 3 until 9 pm at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Memorial Service Friday at the funeral home at 11 am. Internment will be private.
