Carol J. Murtaugh (nee Paddersen), passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at the age of 91. Carol was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Saint Angela’s grammar school, Trinity High School, and Wright Junior College.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond Murtaugh for 54 wonderful years; loving mother of Merry Beth Murtaugh-Brun (Peter Brun), Tom Murtaugh (Rosaria Cacucciolo), and Larry Murtaugh (Erin Gallagher); beloved daughter of the late Roy and Marie Paddersen; fond grandmother of Jordan; dear sister of Joy Carren (late Robert Carren); fond aunt of Patrick Carren (Melissa) and many other caring nieces and nephews.
Carol was employed as a model and secretary in her earlier years, and most recently at Carson Pirie Scott for over 25 years, finally retiring at the age of 84. She touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile and outgoing personality. She was an extremely classy lady and was impeccably dressed and coiffured at all times. Carol will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and many dear friends.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Rainbow Hospice and Pallative Care (rainbowhospice.org), Ascension Illinois Foundation, 1000 Remington Blvd., Suite 100 Bolingbrook, IL 60440.
