Carmine F. Granito, age 80, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2017. Carmine was Born in Campagna, Italy and resided in Des Plaines, Il. He is the beloved husband of the late Norma (nee Spizzirri); loving father of Teresa Granito (Anthony Iachini), Antonella Granito (Nunzio Bottiglieri) and Francesco (Amber) Granito; cherished grandfather of Nicolina, Claudia, Peter, Giuliana, Mason, Mallory. Dear brother of Liberato (Rita), Antonio (Alessandra) and Francesco (Adriana); dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Carmine was a master tailor and was a passionate gardener who enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens and loved celebrating with his family around the table. Visitation will take place Friday March 3, 2017 From 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge. Funeral will be held Saturday, gathering at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. and will then proceed to Our Lady of Ransom Church in Niles at 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
