Carmela Montalbano, nee Messina, age 93, passed away on February 22nd surrounded by her loving family. Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Antonino; loving mother of Giuseppina (Francesco) Scalora, Lidia Montalbano and the late Maria (the late Antonio) Amela; cherished grandmother of Carmela and Luigi Amela, Antonella Scalora, Carmen (Giuseppe) Laudari, Roberto and the late Anthony Militello; great grandmother of Gaetano Laudari; dear sister of Sara Palamenghi, Iana Moribondo and the late Felicia Potestia, Giuseppe Messina and Vincenzo Plano; fond aunt of many. Visitation Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Celestine Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
