Candido Delgado Ruiz

Candido “Cando” Delgado Ruiz, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Cando was the beloved husband of Ana (née Cruz) for 63 wonderful years; the loving father of Marie Luz (Ramon) Calixto, Javier Delgado, and David (Erica Peña) Delgado; the dear son of the late Monterate "Don Monche" Ruiz and of the late Simona and Luis Delgado; the cherished grandfather of Joelh (Meghan) Calixto, Julian (Koraima) Calixto, and Anthony Delgado; the proud great-grandfather of Naleyah and Hhayden Calixto; and the dear brother of the late Francisco (late Alejandrina) Delgado and the late Adrian Delgado. He was also a fond brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, and uncle to many.

Candido was a member of Casa Central in Chicago and the South-East Asia Center.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Aloysius Church, 2300 W. Le Moyne St., Chicago, for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
