Calogero "Lio" Cipriano

Calogero "Lio" Cipriano, age 74, peacefully passed away on January 24, 2026. Lio was the beloved husband of Marina (nee Stanfa) for almost 50 wonderful years; loving father of Francesca (Marc) Macias, Concetta "Cettina" (Adam) Gacka and Cristina (Peter) Alfano; dear son of the late Francesca and Girolamo Cipriano; cherished nonno of Michael and Marcello Macias, Sawyer and Sienna Gacka and Anthony and Domenic Alfano; dearest brother of Maria Concetta Cipriano, Rosalia "Sulina" Darmetta and the late Benedetto Cipriano, Giuseppe Cipriano, Laura Mazza, Salvatore Cipriano, Rosalia Cipriano, Rosaria Troia and Domenica "Mimma" Cipriano; brother-in-law of Salvatore Stanfa, Anna Maria Infantino, Giuseppina DiFranco, George Stanfa and the late Giuseppe Stanfa, and he was a fond zio, cousin, nephew, and friend of many.

Lio was born in Torretta, Sicily in 1951 the youngest of 10 children. He came to America when he was 21 years old and shortly after met the love of his life, Marina. Together they started a pizzeria business that lasted 37 years. They had 3 daughters together whom they cherished greatly. Their family grew and Lio welcomed 3 son-in-laws whom he loved as his own. As years passed, they welcomed 6 grandkids in total who brought him the utmost joy. Besides being with his family, some of his greatest passions included listening to Italian music, cooking and gardening. He loved the outdoors and found so much happiness and pride in his garden.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral Services begin on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Heights for a mass at 11:00 a.m. The entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
