In loving memory of Beverly Augusta Giovenco, who passed peacefully on October 13, 2024. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving parents Marie (née Stukalo) and August “Gus” Giovenco, dear sister Marie “Bebe,” and brother-in-law Jack Francis. She is survived by her cherished sister Donna and brother-in-law Jerry Brown. She was the beloved aunt of Michael (Marge) Francis, Marie (née Francis) Barry, Gus (Rosemary) Francis, Tony Brown, and Jennifer (née Brown) Frazzini. She was the adored great aunt of Lauren Barry, Lisa Francis, Jack, Max, and Joe Brown, Charlotte Frazzini, and Bebe and Jack Francis.
Beverly truly lived a wonderful life full of friends and family. She enjoyed traveling to sun-soaked destinations across the country every chance she could, especially Palm Springs, Scottsdale, various beach towns in Florida, and the Bahamas. Beverly worked for the City of Chicago for over 40 years, where she met “the girls” and established lifelong friendships with Carmen, Lillian, and Maggie who she truly cherished. Their regular luncheons (oftentimes to Connie’s Pizza) brought such joy to her days – the last one being just a few weeks ago. She enjoyed her days in the City, especially working in what she fondly called “the Loop.” She didn’t even mind battling traffic, which she maneuvered with ease (and lots of speed). Bevy was a master shopper who never met a store she didn’t love. She also enjoyed maintaining her beautiful garden, earning countless Forest Glen Green Thumb ribbons she would proudly display all year long. And despite being a lifelong Chicagoan, she had an unwavering fondness for Tom Brady, much to the dismay of the Bears fans around her. Most of all, though, Bevy wholeheartedly loved her family, never missing the important events in all of our lives or asking for daily updates on everyone. While our beautiful Beverly will be dearly missed, we will always cherish the memories we were blessed to have with her.
May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear;
How much we love and miss you and wish that you were here.
