Betty Vernell (nee Hendon) Migliore, age 72 of Chicago, Illinois, died November 2, 2017. She is the beloved wife of Joseph G. of 48 years, loving mother of David (Angela) Smith, Christine (Adam) Perrone, Jennifer (Steve) Coletta, Joseph C. (Katie) Migliore; loving mother-in-law to Jolanta Smith; dearest grandmother of Kevin and Jessica Smith, Sarah and Jacob Perrone, Emily (Juan) Acuna, Samantha, Christopher and Joseph M. Coletta, and Olivia and Isabella Migliore; beloved daughter of the late Ruth and Neely A. Hendon; loving sister to the late Bertie Louise (the late Wiley) Glover , the late Hazel Margaret (the late Tuffy) Glover, the late Geneva Mae (the late Sam) Watts-Hendrickson, the late Mary Sue (the late Rich) Belleveau, the late Daisy Lorean (the late Orvie) Grigsby, the late Patricia Ruth (the late William) Barnett, the late Ruby Jewel (the late Roy) Hornig, Albert Dewayne (Diane) Hendon, and the late Jerry Max (Shirley) Hendon; cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews; and dearest friend to so many.Betty was born in Blytheville, Arkansas May 26 to Ruth J. (nee Vellars) and Neely A. Hendon. She had her first baby at the age of 21, found her true love, Vietnam Army Specialist Joseph G. Migliore. They married March 29, 1969 and went on to have 3 more children. She raised her children with tons of love and they grew into loving beautiful people. As the baby of 10 kids, she had many nieces and nephews, all of whom had a special place in her heart. Some even grew up with her as siblings. Her artistic skills put her in a place where she started a ceramic business in her home. For years, the neighbor ladies came two nights a week for class where they made beautiful pieces and got a release from their everyday lives. The community friendship she offered was more meaningful than she knew. She learned to crochet and sew, making beautiful dresses for her girls and crocheting afghans to keep those she loves warm. Visitation will be Monday, November 6, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
