Betty Lerain Holzkamp, 98, of Gardner, KS, passed away Dec. 30, 2021 at Homestead of Olathe. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at the Irving Park Cemetery Chapel, 7777 Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60634. Betty was born Sept. 5, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Paul Alexander and Gertrude (Ronda) Hartung. She grew up near Chicago where she graduated from high school. She married William August Holzkamp on Oct. 28, 1944. After marriage they moved to Rosemont and later to Des Plaines, and Wheeling, IL. Betty enjoyed playing bingo and was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. She was a She was a Line Operator at Avon. Betty moved to an assisted living facility in Gardner to be near family in 2020. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; three sisters; two brothers. Betty is survived by her daughters: Darlene and husband William Wahle, Carpenterville, IL and Sandra Frazier, Gardner, KS. Grandchildren: Ronald Whale and Significant Other, Ceres Buena, Peoria, IL and Janet Dolce, Chilhowee, MO. Great grandchildren: Bradley Dolce, Hanover Park, IL and Elizabeth Lapoint (Kyle) Elgin, Ill.
