Betty Haskett

Elizabeth (Betty) Haskett, 79 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 21, 2022.

Betty was born to the late Frances and Raymond Ziolkowski on October 21, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Betty spent her career in Banking and retired from LaSalle Bank in 2004. She is survived by the love of her life, Phillip (retired CPD). They married in 1959 and lived in North Carolina where he was stationed in the USMC. They returned to Chicago, Illinois in 1961 after the birth of their son, welcomed their daughter in 1964, and were blessed with 62 years of marriage together.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed spending time with and cooking amazing feasts for family and friends, playing cards and tennis, bowling, traveling, visiting casinos and watching her beloved Cubs and Bears teams play. She had a bright smile and a sharp sense of humor that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her two children: Mark (late Kathleen) Haskett of Casa Grande, Arizona and Lisa (Ron) Wade of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by four granddaughters: Jessica, Jennifer (RJ), Jessica (Tim) and Danielle (Paul), and four great-grandsons: Kadence, Kameron, Levi and Lincoln. She is also survived by her brother Robert (late Warnell) Ziolkowski, her sister Frances (Ed) Rokos, her sister Margaret (Gary) Yong, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Friday, March 25th from 3PM until 8PM at Cumberland Chapels Funeral Home, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave, Norridge IL 60706. A St. Jude Police League service will be held at 7PM with CPD Chaplain Fr. Dan Brandt officiating. Funeral services on Saturday, March 26th will be private.
