Betty J. Contreras, 93, at rest October 26, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Joseph David Contreras for 63 wonderful years. Loving mother of David J. (Eva), Barbara J. (Kenneth) Rose, James P. (Margaret), John M. (Constance), Mark J. and Thomas J. (Norma); devoted grandmother of Matthew, Desiree, Adam, Emily, Dustyn, Edmund, Ian, Samuel, Diana and Raul and great grandmother of Ryan, Nicholas and Kelsey; dear sister of Jay (the late Judy), Bob (Sally), Don (Socorra) and the late Ron (the late Phyllis) and the late Shirley (the late Stanley); aunt of Sandra, Carol, Janice and the whole Colorado family, Kim, Christy, Steve, Jennifer, Charisse, Randy, Todd, Gregory, Andrea, Vicky, the late Mike, and all their extended children. Betty was a devoted wife and mother to her family who always put them first in her life. She was the very definition of a caretaker, stepping up to care for her family at various times throughout her life. Through her gentle example she modeled devotion to family, prayer, and going to church. She knew how to throw a party and made life fun. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, Chicago. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
