Basilisa Velez-Rios

Basilisa "Basi" Velez-Rios, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022. Basi was the beloved wife of the late Emilio Rodriguez; loving mother of Mike (Irys) and Edwin (Geny) Molina, Zoraida (Benjamin) Fragoso, Osvaldo Molina, Sylvia (Scott) Allen and Claribel (Daniel Fediuk) Molina; dearest daughter of the late Emilia and Guillermo Velez; cherished grandmother of Michelle, Jennifer, Joel, Daniel, Josue, Kristina, Zoraida Lee, Benjamin, Nicholas, Jasmine, Alexis, Darleen, Emmanuel, Emilia, Olivia, Scott III and the late Michael; great grandmother of Anjali, Natalie, Jadon, Ava Sophia, Adriane, Alyssa, Aiden, Isabelle, Joel and Evander; dear sister of Iris, Guillermo, Armando, Victor, and the late Angelina, Edelmiro, Nicanor, Juan, Trifido, Angel and Emilia; fond aunt of many.

Visitation Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL.

The funeral will be on Thursday, friends and family are asked to gather between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Service will begin at 9:00 a.m. , and the interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago.
