Barbara Ferrol Fabris, (nee Webster), age 63, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on March 19, 2026, after a 9 month battle with cancer. Barb was the beloved wife of Jack A. for 36 wonderful years; loving mother of Anthony D. (Stacy) and David I. (Alessandra) Fabris; cherished "Bunny" to her grandchildren Connor, Martin, and Sophie; dear sister of Douglas (Mariruth) Webster, and sister-in-law to John and James (Susan) Fabris. She was the beloved daughter of, and preceded in death by, her parents Margaret and David Webster.
Barb lived on Nashville Avenue on the Northwest side of Chicago her entire life, purchasing their family home with Jack three doors down from her childhood home. She graduated from North Park College and then joined Thorek Memorial Hospital in 1984 where she was a nurse for 41 years. It was at Thorek that she met the love of her life, a pharmacist, after being set up at the company Christmas party.
Barb was an active volunteer for 25 years on the Local School Council of John W. Garvy School, where she graduated from, as did Anthony and David. She was an avid sports fan, with Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks games nearly always on in the living room. She was a proud Hockey Mom, both to her boys and their teammates over the years, as well as a loving Dog Mom to many lucky pups. Their home was a revolving door of friends and neighbors, with a tray of her famous brownies ready to share for any occasion.
Her favorite memories were when the house was loud and chaotic but filled with the laughter of family and friends. She would have loved to hear the same at her services. To quote her favorite movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, “Remember, no one is a failure who has friends”. Barb would have wanted everyone to take a second and ensure special people in their lives feel their love today.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL.
